Educational  & Career Experience

I am a high school graduate of Hazel Green High School. After high school, I attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Immediately after graduating, I started teaching 11th & 12th grade English at East Nashville Magnet High School. While teaching high school English in Metro Nashville Public Schools for seven years, I attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee earning my Master's of Education degree in Administration & Supervison, Education Specialist, and Doctoral degree in Education Administration & Supervision; I also graduated from Vanderbilt University's Principal Leadership Academy.

After completing my seventh year of teaching, I was promoted to Assistant Principal at Cane Ridge High School in Metro Nashville Public Schools where I led the Academy of Architecture and Construction, which was accredited and deemed a model academy by the National Career Academy Association. This is my 2nd year in Masison City Schools as Academy and Alternative School Principal and I absolutely love working with the students!

I believe all students can succeed and the ultimate purpose of education is to create a learning environment that is safe, student friendly, nurturing, and a setting where students experience success and academic achievement while experiencing a curriculum that allows for academic,  physical, social and emotional growth helping all students become productive citizens.

I grew up in Toney Alabama, I am the youngest of 4, have a daughter named Addysyn, and married my high school sweetheart Charles. My hobbies include shopping, spending time with friends and family, reading, and going on vacation.
